Design for Human Future
Barcelona Design WeekBarcelona Design Week (BDW), one of the most prominent creative events in the city of Barcelona, returns for its 19th edition with over 140 activities. The event caters to professionals, students, and design enthusiasts both locally and internationally, highlighting the role of design in driving social and environmental change.
This year, BDW introduces “Underground BDW”, an unconventional exhibition in a transformed parking space that brings together cutting-edge, experimental proposals focusing on sustainability and human-centred innovation.
On October 24-25, the “Parking Gallery by LCI Barcelona” will host an eclectic selection of participants, including creative studios, art and design schools, and international brands, all addressing pressing global challenges like climate change through design-driven solutions.
The week-long event will also feature “Disseny en Diagonal”, a participatory experience that transforms Barcelona’s Avinguda Diagonal into a vibrant avenue of creativity, offering hands-on activities for all ages.
With its focus on this year's theme, “Design for Human Future”, BDW 2024 explores how design can foster sustainable solutions for our planet and society, particularly by rethinking the use of resources like water.
From exhibitions and installations to talks, workshops, and roundtables, BDW offers a unique platform for discovering the latest innovations in sustainable design and creative industries.
