The 10th Anniversary Boston Design Week will take place April 25-May 7, 2023, featuring 80+ in-person, virtual and outdoor events citywide, including the annual Design Week Awards, Friday, May 5th.

This 12-day design festival offers renowned guest speakers, panel discussions, exhibitions, and more hosted by design-oriented businesses, universities, museums, non-profit organizations, and professional societies.

Most events are free of charge with registration, and all events must be open to the public.

This year, for the first time, Boston Design Week will also include an online show and sale:

"DISCOVER DESIGN FAIR" featuring innovative furniture, decorative arts, glass, ceramics, sculptural objects, lighting and more. Individual makers, collaboratives, galleries and small manufacturers are invited to register to exhibit today!

With sustainability, environmental impact and climate change in mind, the special festival theme this year is: Design For Tomorrow, Today!

The festival organizers seek events and programs in all categories and in all fields of design that are groundbreaking, disrupt previous ideas, or challenge conventional thinking, processes or materials, with particular interest in design that responds to the economic, social and environmental imperatives of the city of Boston, the United States and the world.

The festival also has a number of Special Focus Tracks to make it easier for people to follow a particular interest:

- ARCHITECTURE AND URBAN PLANNING - Architecture, Placemaking, Preservation

- LANDSCAPE DESIGN AND OUTDOORS - Landscape architecture, parks, playscapes

- DESIGN AND SOCIAL IMPACT - Sustainability, Racial Justice, the Environment

- PROFESSIONAL FOCUS

- Design Industry, Design Education, Competitions

- HANDMADE DESIGN - Artisanal and Custom Design
