Beijing Design Week is an important public service platform for creative design with international Beijing influences and sustainable development in Beijing.

BJDW aims to be a crucial platform for government promoting innovative design and related industries transfusion, and to play an important role not only in constructing Being as National Cultural Center, Innovative Technology Center and International Communication Center, but also releasing Beijing from non-capital functions, to building up high-end industrial.

Featuring the concept of guiding the construction of "smart cities" with "big design", the Design Week will continue gathering global innovation resources, stimulating the creative vitality of the whole people, and becomes Beijing's theoretical contribution to the international urban development model, which has been recognized and practiced by more and more city managers and design industry.

Beijing Design Week (BJDW), launched in 2009, is a national large-scale annual cultural event and international A-type creative design event held in Beijing with the approval of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, which is cosponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Beijing Municipal Government.

As the design week with the largest scale in Asia and creative design public service platform with international influence in Beijing and with sustainable development, every year BJDW attracts more than 2,000 designers, institution representatives and academic professionals, more than 100 registered media and 5 million audience
